Vive la France! Paris – the people, the food and the life
In June 2013 I had the pleasure of visiting the romantic city of Paris for a few days. We enjoyed the stay in a fascinating city, however just a bit disappointed since we had a more romantic image of Paris that the city not quite managed to live up to. But it was a nice trip – don´t let me scare you away from Paris, but make sure you get to the best parts, like Montmartre for instance
The time was not enough to explore all of Paris but a whole lot of photos was coming home with us!
In France you eat baguettes. For breakfast. For lunch. For dinner… And a croissant somewhere in between
Lovely fruit and vegetables brighting up the street!
And what trip to France is complete without the taste of snails..? I had the courage to try in the nice restaurant La Camille…
There were of course other nice restaurants… Our favourite area was Montmartre, where we also had booked the hotel.
How many people can resist sharing this lunch:
The city was alive with colors and entertainment:
Relaxing with a bottle of wine…
Artists
And weddings!

Paris – must see
We tried to se as much as possible during our long weekend in Paris, but there was so much to see… This is a big city! As mentioned earlier, we stayed in Montmartre and there you will find the Sacre Coeur, a true gathering place in the evenings where people sat on that stairs drinking wine and beer and enjoying the view over Paris. The view was breathtaking, so was all the salesmen disturbing the peace trying to sell luminous toys, beer and other tourist crap…
Another famous place:
The next one does not need an introduction either…

And of course the was some shopping on the most famous shopping street…
Seems like this was a good thing to take photos of, I better do so… Standing with the back towards triumphal Arch:
The best view of Paris is from the 56th floor in the tower of Montparnasse – I recommend this to get away from all the cue at the Eiffel tower. Up in Montparnasse, you get a panorama view of Paris, overlooking several miles in good weather! We had some bad luck with the weather though, but we could still see the enormous size of the city.

Montparnasse, Paris
To transport yourself between attractions, the easiest way is to use the Metropolitan.
Don´t miss out on the smaller things to see:

To sum up – a nice trip in spite of a small touch of disappointment
